Happy Birthday to Elton John!

3.25.2014

I love Elton John and I'm not ashamed to admit this. (I also like Barry Manilow which to some may be more shameful.) Anyway, today is Sir Elton John's 67th birthday! Yes Sir Elton because he has been knighted by the Queen of England. I've loved Elton ever since I was a kid. When I'd help my dad with the dishes after dinner, he'd play his Elton John's Greatest Hits Volumes 1&2. When I'd ride in his car I'd ask my dad to play his Elton CDs. When I was 12 or 13, Elton's tour came to my hometown. My dad took me. It was the first concert beside The Riders in the Sky that I had ever seen. There are so, so many Elton songs, in fact there are volumes and the complete sheet music piano book actually probably weighs six pounds. I love so many of the songs, that its hard to pick my favorites. I think that Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters, Madman Across the Water and Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting would have to be my top three. Happy birthday Sir Elton John!
